About the Exhibition
Curated by Artistic Director Neville Wakefield and Co-curator César García-Alvarez, the exhibition will explore the desert as both a place and idea, acknowledging the realities of people who reside here and the political, social, and cultural contexts that shape their stories.

Saturday with a Docent

Help us Protect the Desert
Desert X consults with site owners and environmental organizations to install artworks and welcome visitors in a manner in which the exhibition leaves no trace after it closes.
Weekends are busy. Plan ahead.
Entrance to all Desert X installations is free. However, to ensure social distancing and allow for parking in designated areas, we have instituted a reservation system for visits Thursday through Sunday at two installations. Walk-up guests will be accommodated as time and space allow.
The health and safety of Desert X visitors, artists, employees, volunteers, and community is our priority. Let’s take care of one another so that we can all safely experience Desert X.
