Performance by Serge Attukwei Clottey

In April 2021, artist Serge Attukwei Clottey activated his installation, The Wishing Well, with a mask performance that aspired to connect communities in the Coachella Valley with his hometown of Labadi in Ghana. Evoking the figure of the water warrior, Attukwei Clottey moved through the installation and its surrounding environment carrying an empty Kufuor gallon—mimicking the search for water that shapes the lives of people in this desert and in other places like this.
