The third edition of Desert X in the Coachella Valley will be curated by César García-Alvarez and Neville Wakefield

García-Alvarez joins returning Artistic Director Neville Wakefield for the third edition of the international art exhibition that will activate California’s desert landscape through site-responsive installations by renowned international contemporary artists. shared artistic, historical, and societal issues; and providing an accessible platform for artists from around the world.

Acknowledgment of Native Land

We acknowledge the Cahuilla People as the original stewards of the land on which Desert X takes place. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work with the indigenous people in this place. We pay our respect to the Cahuilla People, past, present and emerging, who have been here since time immemorial.

Jeffrey Gibson – On View

Jeffrey Gibson’s “Alive” was part of Desert X 2017 and can still be seen 24/7 from the street outside the Palm Springs Art Museum. For entry to the sculpture garden and the museum, please check museum website.

Desert X 2017 Catalogue Now Available

The Desert X 2017 catalogue is available. This 240 page, full color catalogue explores the concept and ideas around Desert X. Featuring photos from the 2017 exhibition and interviews with the participating artists. Published by Andrew Roth and PPP Editions.
